Hoedspruit is strategically located central to several diverse habitats with an large array of 500+ bird species of which many are well sought-after by world birders like the African Finfoot, Taita Falcon, Narina Trogon, Half-collard Kingfisher, Southern Ground Hornbill, Southern Bald Ibis, Orange Ground Thrush, Crowned Eagle, Kori Bustard, Secretary Bird and Black-fronted Bushshrike.
Afro-montane Forests, savannah thornveld, riverine forest, escarpment and fynbos biomes are all within easy access and can be explored on our day trips.

1. Kruger National Park

Pick up in Hoedspruit

  • We enter the Kruger Park at Orpen Gate.
  • Birding walk in Orpen Camp
  • Picnic breakfast
  • Birding drive to Satara Camp
  • Bird walk and lunch in Satara Camp
  • Visit to Sweni Bird Hide
  • Return to Hoedspruit via Orpen gate.
  • Arrival between 5-6 pm

  • Fynbos birding and view over the Blyde River Canyon
  • Driving down to the Blyde River

  • Waterfall hiking trail birding walk
  • Return to Hoedspruit arriving between 5-6 pm

  • Picnic breakfast (included) at Three Rondawels viewpoint
  • God's Window viewpoint forest birding walk

  • Second stop at Strijdom tunnel if necessary
